The MENA Golf Tour expands globally with the launch of the US Qualifiers

Dubai, 5 June / WAM / The MENA Golf Tour announced today the launch of the first American qualifying qualifiers in its history, which will be held from October 13 to 15 at the famous “Slammer and Square” course in the Global Golf Village in Florida, in a prominent step for the UAE’s pioneering initiative in the global expansion of the tour.
This step represents the most important international development in the history of the MENA Golf Tour, which is headquartered in the UAE and is the only tour in the Middle East and North Africa region recognized by the World Golf Rankings.
The tour took advantage of the past period to accelerate its expansion plans, as the American qualifiers “Qualifying School” paved the way for a potential number of tournaments to be held in the United States in the coming seasons, which places the region, and its member players, firmly on the global stage.
The move is led by the Board of Directors, which includes Keith Waters, President and Commissioner of the Tour, Major General Abdullah Al Hashimi, President of the Emirates Golf Association and Vice President of the Asian Golf Confederation, and Donna Benton, the lead investor.
Keith Waters, Chairman and Commissioner of the MENA Tour, said: “The past few months have tested everyone involved in this Tour, but they have also confirmed the capabilities of the MENA Golf Tour, which returns bigger, bolder and more ambitious than ever before in our history.
He added that holding the American qualifiers in a location of the status of the Global Golf Village is the best evidence of the excellence of this tour, as it places our region on the global stage, opens its doors to a whole new group of talent, and paves the way for a subsequent American round of MENA Golf Tour events. It is truly an exciting moment for golf in our region.
