Türkiye’s exports of defense industries amounted to $11 billion last year

ANKARA, June 30 (WAM) – The value of Turkish exports of defense industries amounted to about $11 billion during the past year.

The head of the Turkish Defense Industries Authority, Haluk Gurgun, explained that his country’s exports of defense industries amounted to 250 million dollars in 2002, while last year they reached about 11 billion dollars.

He pointed out that the percentage of local manufacturing in the defense industry sector in Türkiye exceeded 80%, pointing out that Turkish defense industry products are exported to more than 180 countries.
