Emirates Development Bank launches "Future Pioneers Program"
ABU DHABI, 2nd July, 2018 (WAM) – The Emirates Development Bank launched the “Emirates Development Bank’s Future Pioneers Program 2026,” a youth initiative that aims to provide students with entrepreneurship skills and enhance their leadership capabilities, which will prepare the next generation of innovators to contribute to building the country’s knowledge-based economy.
The program will be held from July 6 to August 21, and embodies the bank’s continued commitment to nurturing human resources as the basic pillar of long-term economic growth, in parallel with its efforts to empower national talent and consolidate the UAE’s position as a center for entrepreneurship, innovation, and sectors that meet the needs of the future.
His Excellency Ahmed Mohammed Al Naqbi, CEO of the Emirates Development Bank, said: “The Future Pioneers Program embodies our firm commitment to investing in young talent, based on its pivotal role in achieving the long-term economic vision of the UAE. By providing direct practical experience in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, the program contributes to developing the skills of future leaders and enabling them to make effective contributions to building a more diversified and competitive economy.”
For her part, Noura Al Ketbi, Acting Head of Human Resources Department and Director of the Talent Development and Personnel Affairs Department at the Emirates Development Bank, said: “Empowering young people is a fundamental pillar of our strategy, and the Future Pioneers Program aims to prepare a promising generation of innovative thinkers and leaders capable of contributing to achieving the economic ambitions of the UAE. We are certain that providing practical experiences, guidance and qualitative guidance to participants lays the foundations necessary to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success.”
The program targets students of different nationalities between the ages of 17 and 21 years and provides them with an integrated educational experience that goes beyond traditional education methods within the classroom.
The program includes specialized workshops, advanced lessons presented by a group of experts, sessions to develop leadership skills, as well as simulation sessions for business environments, reflecting the reality of entrepreneurship and its requirements.
Through direct interaction with mentors and sector experts, participants acquire a set of core competencies in the field of entrepreneurship, including idea generation, problem solving, financial literacy, innovative thinking, and business model development.
The program also allows them to learn about real business challenges and case studies that illustrate the mechanisms of how organizations work, how they expand and adapt to competitive markets, in addition to consolidating the values of cooperation, creativity and flexibility as essential ingredients for success in the ever-changing global economy.
The program contributes to enhancing the pivotal role played by the Emirates Development Bank in supporting the entrepreneurship system in the UAE and supports the achievement of national priorities aimed at enhancing private sector growth, stimulating innovation and advancing economic diversification efforts by investing in developing the capabilities and qualifications of young people.
It is worth noting that applications are now open to join the Future Pioneers Program for the year 2026, and the Emirates Development Bank has invited students who meet the eligibility requirements to submit their applications via the website.
