During the first half of 2026, the Municipality of Abqaiq Governorate completed development and development work aimed at raising the efficiency of infrastructure and enhancing Quality of municipal services, as part of the Eastern Province Municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve the urban landscape and improve the quality of life in the cities and governorates of the region.

The Director General of the General Administration of Information and the official spokesman for the Eastern Province Municipality, Faisal Al-Zahrani, explained that the implemented works included a number of Traffic safety, and improving the urban appearance of the governorate.
He added, the municipality carried out the work of constructing and maintaining sidewalks with a length of 10,000 linear meters, in addition to developing and constructing sidewalks with an area of 65,000 square meters, in a way that supports easy pedestrian movement and improves the quality of public facilities, in addition to the work of improving lighting efficiency through the maintenance of 2,311 lighting poles and painting 103 poles in a number of locations.

He said that these works come within the municipality’s plans aimed at developing infrastructure, raising the efficiency of municipal services, and enhancing the quality of life through the implementation of quality projects that meet the needs of the population and contribute to improving the urban environment.
Al-Zahrani indicated that the municipality of Abqaiq Governorate continues to implement periodic road maintenance programmes, as the works included treating and repairing street potholes with an area of 89 square metres, with the aim of maintaining the efficiency of the roads and raising the level of their operational readiness.
He stressed that the implemented projects and works It comes as an extension of the efforts of the Eastern Province Municipality and its municipalities to develop public facilities, improve the urban landscape, and enhance sustainability in municipal services, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program.
Al-Zahrani stated that the Municipality continues to implement its development projects according to well-thought-out plans aimed at raising the level of services provided to residents and visitors, and achieving an integrated and sustainable urban environment in the various cities and governorates of the Eastern Province.
