Sharjah Maritime Transport Academy"Seamaster" Navigation cooperates to develop national competencies

Sharjah, 8 July / WAM / Today, the Sharjah Maritime Transport Academy signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seamaster Shipping Group, in a step aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of maritime education and training, developing national competencies, and expanding practical training opportunities for students in a way that contributes to aligning educational outcomes with the requirements of the maritime sector.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Hashim Abdullah bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director of the Academy, and Rami Rashid, Director of the Group.
Dr. Al Zaabi stressed that this partnership comes within the framework of the Academy’s keenness to provide quality training environments that enable students to acquire the practical experiences and professional knowledge necessary to enhance their readiness to engage in the labor market and contribute to supporting the growth of the maritime sector in the UAE.
For his part, Rami Rashid pointed out the importance of investing in developing maritime competencies and qualifying the next generation of specialists in a way that supports the sustainability of the maritime sector and enhances the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the two sides.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will cooperate in providing practical training opportunities for academy students in the departments and divisions of the Seamaster Shipping Group and its subsidiaries, in addition to exchanging knowledge, experiences, specialized studies, organizing training programs, workshops, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives related to sustainability and social responsibility.
The memorandum includes cooperation in the field of professional maritime training by providing specialized programs and courses for maritime cadres, in addition to studying future cooperation opportunities that contribute to developing professional skills and raising the level of performance in the maritime sector.
