Russia bans diesel fuel exports due to Ukrainian strikes

Declared Russiabanned diesel exports, after imposing in recent months a series of other restrictions to confront the fuel shortage caused byUkrainian strikes targeted its refineries.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin devoted to this crisis: "The diesel export ban came into effect today, which will allow for increased supplies in the domestic market"
Novak described the current situation as… "complicated"and requires the import of oil derivatives to compensate for the shortfall.
Intensive strikes
For his part, Putin said that Ukraine "Seeking to harm the economy" Russian and"Creating a climate of tension within society"But he stressed that it would not succeed because "The margin of safety in the Russian energy grid is very high"
In recent months, Ukraine has intensified its strikes against refineries and oil depots in Russia, repeatedly causing major fires.
The attacks, which coincided with an increase in demand for fuel during the summer season, led to shortages in several regions, especially in the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014.
