‘Dune: Part Three’ trailer released with behind-the-scenes photos in Abu Dhabi

The official trailer for ‘Dune: Part Three’ has been released, with the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) sharing behind-the-scenes images from filming at Liwa Desert as it brought Arrakis to life to mark the epic final chapter in Denis Villeneuve’s Academy Award-winning saga.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan, Dune: Part Three is based on the novels written by Frank Herbert and delivers the epic conclusion to Villeneuve’s trilogy of over seven years in the making.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, with Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem, and features newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.

Released by Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures, Dune: Part Three brings Villeneuve’s trilogy to a breathtaking conclusion, set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium.

Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul (played by Chalamet) must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow.

Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani (played by Zendaya) at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.

Building on the visual legacy established in Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), Abu Dhabi’s dramatic desert landscapes once again play a central role in bringing the world of Arrakis to life.

“More than 600 UAE-based individuals were involved with the 31-day shoot, from six interns and 38 residents acting for crowd scenes to 206 local crew and 336 individuals from the wider creative industry such as caterers, the impact of Dune: Part Three is enormous,” commented Sameer Al Jaberi, Head of Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

Dune: Part Three was supported by Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi (CMA) and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, with Image Nation Studios serving as a production partner and Epic Films as the local production services provider.

The film opens only in theaters and IMAX across North America on December 18, and internationally beginning December 16.
