The President of Venezuela confirms that her country’s oil production is not affected by the two earthquakes

Caracas, July 14, 2017 – Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, confirmed that oil production in her country was not affected by the two devastating earthquakes that occurred last month.
Rodriguez stated that Venezuela, which has the largest proven reserves of crude oil in the world, was pumping 1.2 million barrels per day, an increase of about 10 percent within a year, and that the government is still confident of achieving strong growth this year.
Crude oil production, which is the country’s main source of income, is concentrated in Lake Maracaibo in the northwest and the Orinoco Belt in the east.
