Recommendations of the World Media Congress…renewed visions for an innovative media future

Abu Dhabi, 4 December / WAM / Participants in more than 121 sessions and workshops, in addition to the “Media Labs” dialogues, within the activities of the third edition of the World Media Congress 2024, which concluded its activities recently, recommended the necessity of setting new standards and a future media vision to confront the challenges witnessed by the sector. Media in light of rapid technological development, based on creativity, innovation, responsibility and moral values of societies and peoples around the world.
The participants called for the need to empower the younger generation of media professionals, provide them with the knowledge and skills, and provide the required capabilities, to enhance their cognitive awareness and continue developing their media capabilities and performance in a way that serves the process of sustainable development.
More than 92 specialists from various sectors of the media industry, belonging to more than 20 nationalities, who shared their ideas and experiences in key sessions, media laboratories and workshops, stressed the importance of the World Media Congress, which has become a global gathering of minds from thought leaders, innovators and decision makers to address challenges and take advantage of opportunities in the industry. Media.
Participants in the Congress work described the event’s main agenda as “dynamic” as it witnessed a strong focus on innovation, skills development, artificial intelligence, creative methods, interactive storytelling, responsible media work ethics, and other interactive and innovative topics that contributed to strengthening the event’s position as a leading platform for shaping the future of global media. .
The third edition of the Congress witnessed the participation of media students from five universities across the country, providing them with the opportunity to view discussions and dialogues with the participation of an elite group of media leaders and experts, thus enhancing their knowledge and exchanging experiences with media professionals from around the world.
Participants in the discussion sessions stressed the importance of setting clear practical steps aimed at developing media work, in addition to a future road map to improve media practices at all levels, as well as strengthening strategic partnerships between international media institutions to enhance the role of Arab media on the global scene.
They recommended the need to study the impact of artificial intelligence and digital transformation technologies on the media industry, and provide solutions to improve the use of advanced technologies, such as machine learning and big data, to support media production and content development.
They stressed the importance of the role of youth in shaping the future of media, as they recommended the need to review best practices to empower young people and provide them with modern media skills, in addition to working to support creativity and entrepreneurship in the field of media.
Participants called for the need to establish new standards for integrity and transparency, and to address the phenomenon of media misinformation, in addition to promoting a culture of responsibility in media content, with a focus on respecting cultural and social values.
They emphasized the role of the media in confronting global challenges, calling for a discussion of its role in supporting sustainable development and confronting global crises, in addition to studying the role of the media in promoting dialogue between cultures and peoples.
It is worth noting that the World Media Congress 2024 will issue white papers for the event, which will contain the outcomes of discussions and working sessions with an elite group of experts and specialists from various countries of the world, which will be based on the latest studies and research, as they are expected to be completed soon, and will be presented in a special event that will be announced. It contains the recommendations and final outcomes, which will include setting clear mechanisms to implement the recommendations in cooperation with government and private agencies, to ensure periodic follow-up of implementation.
