The UAE concluded its participation in the seventh edition of the Theater Festival for People with Disabilities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held in the sisterly state of Qatar during the period from November 27 to December 3, with the theatrical show “A Lifetime Journey” winning 7 various awards, during the honoring ceremony at the Theater Opera at the Cultural Village Foundation “Katara”.“.

The awards won by the play and produced by the Ministry of Community Development included obtaining third place for the best integrated work, shared equally with the play “The Ship Is Still Standing” from the Sultanate of Oman, while the artist Naji Jumaa won the award for the best non-disabled actor, shared equally with the artist Faisal Rasheed, for his role in the play. “Al Dana” from Qatar, in addition to Fatima Saleh winning first place in the category of Best Actresses with Disabilities, and Mohammed Rashid Al Ghafli won second place as Best Actor with Disabilities and in the Artistic Awards category. The play won the award for best theatrical script, and Hamad Bilal Al Shehhi received a special incentive award for his role in the play.

During the first session of the “Creativity and Excellence Award for Persons with Disabilities in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries,” which was launched during the festival, Hessa Mohammed Al Mandoos was given an appreciation award in the “Creative Persons” category in support of the winners’ innovations that contributed to solutions for people with disabilities..
