"Edge" Brazil delivers secure and advanced communications systems

ABU DHABI, 5 December / WAM / EDGE and the Agency for the Management and Operation of the Amazon Protection System (SENSIPAM), affiliated with the Brazilian Ministry of Defense and designated for the management and protection of the legal Amazon and Blue Amazon regions in Brazil, signed a letter of intent confirming the agency’s interest in obtaining a secure and advanced communications system.

The system will be deployed in partnership with SEAT, a Brazilian company specializing in smart weapons and advanced defense systems, of which EDGE owns a 50 percent stake.

The secure communications system combines ultra-secure X3M silencer smartphones from EDGE, a satellite communications link for command and control from SEAT, and radios produced by the Brazilian Military Materials Industry.

Using an open architecture, the system allows the integration of associated technologies to enable interoperability and information exchange.

As a tailored solution, the system provides powerful applications for EDGE customers in Brazil and Latin America who need reliable, highly secure communications in difficult and remote operational environments.

Sensibam and SEAT officially concluded the agreement through a letter of intent that was signed on the sidelines of the Mostra Bid Brasil exhibition held at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center in Brasilia, between December 3 and 5.
