Minister of Culture: The UAE is a leading global model in supporting arts and culture

Abu Dhabi, December 6 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said that the United Arab Emirates confirms its position as a leading global model in supporting arts and culture, as it combines the preservation of authentic heritage and the promotion of contemporary artistic innovation, and from this standpoint, it came Issuing a federal decree law to empower the arts sector as a strategic step aimed at enhancing the creative environment and organizing the work of non-profit artistic institutions, in a way that ensures the sustainability of this vital sector and contributes to supporting the national development process.
He added that the law aims to provide an integrated package of incentives and facilities, including tax exemptions, customs facilities, and financing programs for artistic institutions and creative individuals, and enhances the role of the arts in building a sustainable and integrated society, and reflects the state’s commitment to stimulating the creative industries economy and making the arts a part of people’s lives. Daily, the law also seeks to establish the values of coexistence and cultural openness, which enhances the UAE’s position as a global center for artistic creativity.
He explained that the Arts Empowerment Law constitutes a golden opportunity for creative youth, as it provides the necessary financial and technical support and provides them with local and international platforms to display their talents, which contributes to building a new generation of creators who proudly reflect the Emirati cultural identity.
He pointed out that the law is an incentive to enhance artistic production and attract artistic talent from inside and outside the country, which contributes to achieving the government’s goals towards building an integrated cultural system that supports creativity and opens new horizons for the advancement of the arts sector.
His Excellency stressed that the Ministry of Culture will continue to work to educate the general public and specialists about the importance of this law and the opportunities it provides, through innovative programs that highlight the advantages that the law provides to artistic institutions and individuals, ensuring a deeper understanding of its role in promoting arts and creativity in the country.
