The Head of State and the Cypriot President discuss cooperation relations and regional developments by telephone

During a phone call today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him,” and His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the two countries and opportunities to strengthen their relations, especially in the economic and development fields, in a way that serves their common interests.

The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, most notably the developments in the situation in the Middle East region and the importance of working to contain escalation in the region to avoid further crises that threaten regional peace and stability, as well as the necessity of opening horizons for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to settle conflicts in the world.

His Highness the President expressed his appreciation for Cyprus’ efforts and initiatives in the field of humanitarian support for the Gaza Strip, stressing the UAE’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with it and with various parties in the region and the world in supporting humanitarian efforts in this regard.
