The Second Riyadh Health Cluster launches 200 volunteer initiatives
These initiatives affirmed the association’s role in promoting the culture of health volunteering and community service in its various segments.
The initiatives varied to include the participation of health practitioners and administrators alike, the most prominent of which are: measuring the vital signs of community members, with the aim of highlighting the importance of monitoring vital indicators to enhance health control, in addition to providing nutritional consultations with specialized specialists, and preventive dental examinations to reduce diseases of the mouth, gums and teeth. In addition to the seasonal influenza vaccination campaign and various health and administrative initiatives.
In a distinctive humanitarian gesture, the institutional communication team implemented an initiative to visit hospitalized patients at King Fahad Medical City, with the aim of providing them with moral and psychological support and promoting volunteer messages and its health and social goals. Other initiatives also included field visits to patients in their homes to provide them with comprehensive health care.
The cluster also launched a program as part of its specific initiatives, aiming to reduce waiting lists for surgical operations, as a target was set to conduct 100 surgeries per month in all the cluster’s hospitals, which reflects the cluster’s commitment to improving health services for beneficiaries.
These efforts come within the strategy of the Second Riyadh Health Gathering, to enhance the values of health volunteering and consolidate its role in improving the quality of life and public health, in fulfillment of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision of promoting volunteer work and community service.
