316 million dinars, total merchandise exports of national origin during October 2024

The Information and e-Government Authority issued its preliminary report on foreign trade statistics for the month of October 2024. The report includes data on imports, exports of national origin, and re-exports, in addition to the trade balance.
The report stated that during October 2024, the value of non-oil merchandise imports amounted to about 463 million dinars, compared to 561 million dinars for the same month in 2023, a decrease of 17%. The total imports of the top ten countries represented about 71% of the total value of imports.
According to the report, China’s imports ranked first, amounting to 70 million dinars (15%), followed by Australia, with a value of 54 million dinars (12%), while the United Arab Emirates was ranked third in terms of the volume of imports, which amounted to 37 million dinars (8%). .
“Other aluminum oxide” was the most imported commodity, with a value of 48 million dinars (10%), then “four-wheel drive vehicles” with a value of 18.9 million dinars (4.1%), followed by “non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates” with a value of 18.5 million dinars (4%).
On the other hand, the value of non-oil merchandise exports of national origin decreased by 9%, reaching 316 million dinars, compared to 349 million dinars for the same month of 2023, and the total of the ten most important countries represented about 75% of the total volume of exports of national origin.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first in terms of the volume of exports of national origin, with a value of 69 million dinars (22%), followed by the United States of America, with a value of 40 million dinars (13%), while the United Arab Emirates ranked third with a value of 31 million dinars (10%).
“Raw aluminum alloys” are considered the most exported commodity during the month of October 2024, with a value of 94 million dinars (30%). “Agglomerated iron ores and their concentrates” came in second place, with a value of 40 million dinars (13%), followed by Third place was “unalloyed raw aluminium”, which amounted to 20 million dinars (6%).
As for re-exports, the value of non-oil merchandise re-exports increased by 10%, reaching 75 million dinars, compared to 68 million dinars for the same month of 2023, and the sum of the ten most important countries represented about 82% of the total volume of re-exports.
The United Arab Emirates came in first place in terms of the volume of re-exports, with a value of 24 million dinars (32%), followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a value of 14 million dinars (19%), and then Belgium was in third place, with a value of re-exports of 8 million. Dinar (11%).
“Turbine jet engines” are considered the most re-exported commodity, with a value of 16 million dinars (21%), followed in second place by “gold bullion”, whose value reached 5.3 million dinars (7%), and “four-wheel drive cars” ranked second. Third in terms of re-exports, which amounted to 5.1 million dinars (6.8%).
As for the non-oil merchandise trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, its deficit amounted to 72 million dinars during the month of October of the year 2024, compared to what it was in the same month of the year 2023, when the deficit amounted to 144 million dinars.
