Dubai Financial Market trading increased 40.4% in the first half and net profits reached 443.2 million dirhams

DUBAI, 30 JULY / WAM / The total consolidated revenues of the Dubai Financial Market amounted to 557 million dirhams during the first half of the current year, which included revenues worth 384.8 million dirhams from operating income and 172.2 million dirhams from investment returns and other sources of income.
The revenues of the Dubai Financial Market during the first half of 2025 amounted to 888.9 million dirhams due to the presence of non-recurring income from the sale of an investment property worth 462.2 million dirhams at the time.
Net profit before tax amounted to 443.2 million dirhams, compared to 777.1 million dirhams during the first half of 2025.
Expenses, excluding taxes, amounted to 113.8 million dirhams, compared to 111.8 million dirhams during the first half of 2025, an indication of continued investment in market infrastructure and technology, in addition to management’s commitment to efficient spending.
Trading activity in the Dubai Financial Market recorded remarkable growth during the first half of 2026, with an increase in the frequency of investors’ trading and an increase in the value of their trades.
The average daily trading value increased by 45.1% to 1.004 billion dirhams, while the average number of daily transactions increased by 35.4% to about 18,759 transactions, which contributed to an increase in the total value of trading by 40.4% to reach 119.5 billion dirhams.
The Dubai Financial Market index closed the first half of the year at 5,955.58 points.
His Excellency Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Financial Market, said that the increase in trading activity during the first half of 2026, with the total value of trading increasing by 40% and the average daily value of trading exceeding one billion dirhams, reflects the continued strong participation of investors and the growing depth of the capital markets in Dubai.
He added: This strong demand and high levels of participation recorded by the market are based on the solid economic foundations of the Emirate of Dubai and the expansion of its financial system, in addition to the continued interest from international investors. The Dubai Financial Market will continue to develop capital markets that are characterized by transparency, high liquidity, and connection to global markets, thus enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading global financial center, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
During the second quarter of the year, total consolidated revenues amounted to 303.9 million dirhams, compared to 702.5 million dirhams during the second quarter of 2025, and net profit before tax amounted to 249.9 million dirhams, compared to 642.2 million dirhams during the second quarter of 2025.
Hamed Ali, CEO of the Dubai Financial Market and Nasdaq Dubai, said that the performance of the first half reflects the depth and flexibility of the Dubai Financial Market, in addition to the sustainability of liquidity levels and the diversity of the investor base, and the participation of institutional investors and international investors confirms continued confidence in the quality of available investment opportunities and the efficiency of the market infrastructure.
He added: We continue our focus on expanding the scope of investment opportunities, enhancing the market infrastructure, and providing innovative services that contribute to consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global financial center.
The Dubai Financial Market recorded a growth in trading activity during the first half of 2026, as the average daily trading value during the first half of 2026 exceeded by about 45% the level recorded in 2025, amounting to 692 million dirhams, when the Dubai Financial Market achieved the highest level of liquidity in more than ten years.
The total number of deals increased by 31% to reach 2.23 million deals, while the average number of daily deals increased by 35.4% to reach about 18,759 deals, which reflects the widening scope of participation and increased pace in the market.
This increase in trading value and deal sizes occurred during 119 trading days, compared to 123 trading days in the first half of 2025, which clearly demonstrates the high level of daily activity in the market.
The total market value of listed companies reached 981.6 billion dirhams at the end of June 2026, compared to 995.6 billion dirhams at the end of the first half of 2025.
The Dubai Financial Market attracted 42,864 new investors during the first six months of 2026, of whom international investors constituted 71.4%.
Institutional investors accounted for 71.2% of the total trading value, compared to 70.8% during the first half of 2025, and foreign investors contributed 51% of trading activity, thus maintaining their prominent role within the investor base in the Dubai Financial Market.
Ownership by foreign investors reached 20.06% of the total market value, compared to 20.04% during the first half of 2025, while ownership by institutional investors reached 86.5%.
The continued participation of institutional and international investors reflects the attractiveness of the Dubai Financial Market, its ease of access, its connection to global markets, and the opportunities it provides to benefit from Dubai’s economic growth.
During the next phase, the Dubai Financial Market will continue to focus on increasing levels of liquidity, expanding market access, and enhancing the infrastructure and product portfolio that support the continued development of Dubai’s capital markets.
