Dubai Police arrests an international criminal and extradites him to Belgium

The Dubai Police General Command announced that its teams had arrested Othman Al-Balouti, a Belgian national, who is considered one of the most wanted internationally by the Belgian authorities. He has been issued an international red notice and is listed on the lists of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation. Europol, for its involvement in transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.

Dubai Police explained that the teams of the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Investigations arrested Othman Al-Balouti, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, after receiving an international arrest warrant received from the Belgian authorities to the International Cooperation Department of the UAE Ministry of Justice, as the central authority concerned with receiving requests for international cooperation.

Dubai Police stated that it referred Al-Balouti to the Dubai Public Prosecution, to take legal measures against him in accordance with what is followed in extradition cases.

Dubai Police confirmed that the arrest of Othman Al-Balouti comes within the framework of its keenness to combat cross-border organized crime in all its forms, and its continuous work to build bridges of cooperation and coordination with law enforcement agencies in various parts of the world, in order to achieve this goal, within the framework of building a global security system.
