28 recovered people conquer addiction through “will”

28 recovering addiction patients (including four females) out of a total of 67 patients passed the treatment and rehabilitation program, which lasted for four months at the Irada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation in Dubai, which celebrated their graduation in the presence of their families at the Neighborhood Council in Al Khawaneej.

The Executive Director of the “Irada” Center, Abdul Razzaq Amiri, told “Emirates Today” that the therapeutic and rehabilitation program included intensive group, individual and family sessions for all those enrolled, stressing the center’s pride in the group of recoveries who have overcome difficult challenges and created for themselves a new path filled with hope and desire for a better life. .

He added that the program includes a package of programs in internationally known outpatient clinics, which rely on specialized scientific curricula, and includes various therapeutic methods, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, the motivational interviewing program and family therapy, in addition to follow-up of cases by the psychological consultant to treat psychological diseases associated with addiction. Such as severe depression, anxiety, mental illness, and other diseases.

In turn, Christopher Roberts, Director of the Rehabilitation Department at the Irada Center, told Emirates Today that passing this stage of treatment represents an achievement that the Center is always keen to celebrate.

He added that recovery from addiction requires several factors, the most important of which is that the patient has a real desire to get out of a dark tunnel that may usually end in one of two fates, either death or imprisonment, but these graduates who were able to continue the treatment journey decided to put an end to years of suffering and submission.

He pointed out that the work team at the “Irada” Center is like one family, and this is a major factor in the achievement that is repeated with the graduation of each batch of those who have recovered through this program, pointing out that the happiness of the “Irada” family members cannot be described because they are crossing a great path together with the patient. Hardship and difficulty.

Roberts continued that the role of families cannot be ignored, as each case of those who recovered carries an inspiring story of a family that decided to contain and help its patient, and they still have a long road ahead of them that they must walk until the end to ensure that they do not relapse again.

He explained that many of the patients who resorted to the “Irada” Center were not completely convinced at the beginning of the effectiveness of the treatment, and some of them came with a purpose, perhaps to calm the anger of his family or to agree with them, but the situation changes when they join the treatment programs, as they discover that they do not have personal experience. Rather, it is a recurring suffering they see in their peers who enroll in the same program with them.

For her part, the acting head of the rehabilitation department, Aisha Al-Amiri, told Emirates Al-Youm that the center applies a strict treatment plan within the framework of the therapeutic and rehabilitation program, requiring the patient to attend 70% of the group sessions, in addition to individual sessions and follow-up with doctors for drug treatment, as… The center designs an independent treatment path for each patient.

She added that the patient’s completion of this program is a positive indicator, because the early recovery indicator occurs after completing the first 90 days of treatment, during which he undergoes an intensive treatment plan, whether inside the center or in outpatient clinics, and over time the relapse rate of patients who reach this stage of treatment decreases. Recovery.
