Abu Dhabi hosts the 20th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers

ABU DHABI, 10 December / WAM / Last night, Abu Dhabi hosted the meeting of the twentieth session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Media Council, and His Excellency Salman Al Dosari, Minister Media in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Executive Office and Their Excellencies and Excellencies the Ministers of Information in the Arab countries that are members of the Office.
In his opening speech, His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to the participants, and his wishes for the success of the meeting.

His Excellency stressed the importance of joint Arab media work in facing the current political, economic and security challenges, pointing out the necessity of presenting a media discourse that reflects the identity of the Arab peoples, expresses their ambitions, and promotes the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence.
He added that today’s meeting comes to create an Arab media based on knowledge and innovation, that respects diversity and faces challenges, and highlights the region’s achievements and success stories, stressing that investing in developing professional media content and enhancing the presence of Arab media on the international scene is an urgent necessity in light of the rapid changes. witnessed by the media sector globally.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Hamed stressed that adopting modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, has become a strategic element for the development of Arab media, stressing that these technologies allow media institutions to provide accurate and relevant content to the audience, which enhances the competitiveness of Arab media at the global level.

He explained that the media today goes beyond transmitting news to become a tool for achieving sustainable development, pointing to the importance of implementing the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030, which reflects the commitment of Arab countries to shed light on development issues.
He stressed the UAE’s commitment to supporting joint Arab media work, noting that the country will remain an active partner in promoting media integration between Arab countries, which contributes to building a media future that expresses the interests of the peoples.

He pointed out the importance of preparing Arab media experts capable of delivering a media message that the outside world understands, especially in light of the distortion of some Arab issues on the international scene.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Hamed stressed that the Arab media carries a sublime message that goes beyond words and images, to become a partner in building a bright future that enhances the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, and plants the seeds of hope and optimism in the souls of peoples, calling for unifying efforts to achieve a sustainable Arab media that reflects the ambitions of the region and serves the aspirations of the people. Its people.

For his part, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector of the League of Arab States, confirmed that the twentieth session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, hosted by the United Arab Emirates, comes within the framework of strengthening Arab media cooperation to keep pace with the rapid transformations witnessed by the industry. Media.

He praised the organization of the event by the Emirates Media Council, headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, who provided a distinguished model of hosting and good organization.

Khattabi pointed out that the meeting focused on developing the Arab media system based on the recommendations of the Permanent Media Committee, where initiatives were reviewed aimed at updating the media code of honor, developing the media map, and confronting environmental and technical challenges, in addition to enhancing cooperation with international digital companies to develop a common vision that serves… Arab media.

He said that the meeting witnessed extensive discussions on the importance of qualifying media professionals and content makers in light of the rapid developments of communication technology and artificial intelligence, noting that enhancing innovation and media professionalism has become a necessity to keep pace with changes and achieve a developed and influential Arab media.

He added that among the issues raised is also the promotion of development media, through strategies that support sustainable development and highlight Arab efforts in this field, praising the great role that media organizations and unions play in enriching the debate and providing practical initiatives that serve the Arab media.

Khattabi expressed his thanks to the State of Kuwait for its support for the Media Excellence Award for the year 2025 under the slogan “Youth and New Media,” stressing that this award represents an important tributary to stimulate young media competencies and enhance the trend towards a more modern and pluralistic media.

The meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers discussed the latest developments in the plan for media action abroad, the website of the Arab Committee for Electronic Media, the role of Arab media in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism, and the Arab media map for sustainable development 2030.

The meeting also discussed taking steps aimed at completing the negotiation file with international media companies, and continuing efforts aimed at spreading environmental media culture, enhancing quality and professional media excellence, and enhancing the capabilities of Arab media professionals.
