المملكة: Urgent: Saudi Arabia and China sign a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports


Within the framework of strengthening Saudi-Chinese relations, and in response to the kind invitation of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Wang Yi, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Jumada al-Akhirah 23, 1447 AH, corresponding to December 14, 2025 AD.

The two ministers held a discussion session, during which they reviewed the comprehensive strategic partnership relationship between The two friendly countries, and praised the level of relations in all fields, including economic, trade, investment and energy.

They noted that this visit coincided with the (thirty-fifth) anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which witnessed great development and congruence of visions for the common benefit of the two friendly peoples.

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi held a meeting of the (fifth session) of the Political Committee emanating from the high-level Saudi-Chinese joint committee. During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields were discussed.

The two sides affirmed their keenness to exchange support on issues related to the vital interests of the two countries, and their support for everything that achieves security, stability, development and prosperity in the two friendly countries in a way that meets the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries.

The Saudi side renewed its position on commitment to the one-China policy, and that the government of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government that represents China as a whole, and that Taiwan is an integral part of the territory. The Chinese side expressed its support for developing and strengthening Saudi-Iranian relations, and appreciated the leadership role of the Kingdom and its efforts to achieve regional and international security and stability.

The Chinese side also praised the economic developments witnessed by the Kingdom within the framework of Vision 2030, and appreciated the results of the (Riyadh-Arab-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development) hosted by the Kingdom in December 2022, and the Saudi side expressed its support for the People’s Republic of China hosting the (The Second Sino-Arab Summit and the Second Sino-Gulf Summit) in the year 2026.

In this context, the Chinese side expressed its readiness to participate in the 2030 World Expo, which is hosted by the Kingdom.

Views were exchanged on regional and international issues of common interest, and the two sides expressed their readiness to enhance communication and coordination regarding them.

They affirmed their support for the efforts aimed at finding a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue. And the embodiment of the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

During the visit, an agreement was signed (mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, private, and service passports).
