Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned the terrorist incident that targeted a gathering of Australian Jewish civilians near Bondi Beach in the Australian capital, Sydney, and caused the death of a number of victims and injuries.
Al-Azhar affirms its firm position on the prohibition of attacking civilians; Whatever their gender or belief, which comes from an in-depth understanding of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, which forbade transgression against the human soul in general. God Almighty said: “For this reason We decreed for the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul for other than manslaughter or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed All people. And what was reported on the authority of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was that a funeral passed by him and he stood up. It was said to him: It is the funeral of a Jew. He said: “Isn’t that a soul?” That they were able to hit him with two bullets, stressing that this sublime human behavior reflects a deep understanding of the teachings of his true religion, and confirms that Muslims are advocates of peace and love, not violence and hostility, as some try to falsely and slanderously portray them.
