Australian Kane is the men’s champion and Korean Yoon leads the women in the Emirates Golf Cup

Al Ain, December 14 / WAM / Australian Kane Modedna won the title of the Emirates Golf Cup in its second edition, for the men’s category, with a total of 14 strokes under par.
South Korea’s Yoon Seo-yang was crowned women’s champion with a total of 7 strokes under par, and Australia won the team title with a total of 25 strokes under par, and the South Korean team came in runner-up with a score of 22 strokes under par at the conclusion of the tournament this evening.
The tournament was held over 4 days at Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club with the participation of 111 male and female players.
The coronation ceremony was attended by Major General M Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashemi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, His Excellency Arif Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Tom Phillips, CEO of the DB World Championship.
On the sidelines of the major events, the “Future Falcons” tournament was held, with the participation of 80 male and female players from the Emirates and residents.
Al-Awani congratulated the winners of the tournament, praised the high technical level and distinguished organization, and stressed that the success achieved reflects the advanced status of golf in the Emirates.
He added that the tournament is an important milestone on the golf calendar, and attracts the stars of the game at the Arab, continental and international levels, which enhances competitiveness, improves the technical expertise of the players, and contributes to building a strong base for the future.
He noted that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council continues its support and sponsorship of such specific tournaments, based on its vision of empowering individual sports and providing a sustainable competitive environment, especially since the UAE is a destination for golf stars and fans, thanks to its modern stadiums according to the highest international standards, in addition to the advanced infrastructure and ideal atmosphere that provides an integrated sports and tourism experience for participants and visitors.
For his part, Al Hashemi said that the sport of golf in the UAE is moving steadily towards excellence and leadership, praising the distinguished role of parents who were keen to attend and support their children, especially since their support forms the basis for building a promising sporting generation. He stressed the Federation’s keenness to organize this tournament annually to be a platform for discovering talent and promoting the values of sports.
