ABU DHABI, 10 December 2020 / WAM / The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs announced its strategic plan “2024-2028”, which is in line with the strategies of the Abu Dhabi government and the future directions of the UAE and supports its vision of a world-leading customs authority by working with partners to facilitate legitimate and safe trade using the latest innovations. and digital technologies of the future.
The plan is based on six main objectives: enhancing the customer experience so that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is the preferred destination for trade, enhancing revenue collection, contributing to economic growth and enhancing competitiveness, and contributing to community security by enhancing compliance and managing risks effectively and efficiently, in addition to establishing a culture of excellence through innovative transformation and sustainability. Building the future of customs work through managing professional talents and employing the power of future technology in customs work to achieve digital leadership.
His Excellency Rashid Lahej Al Mansouri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, said that the strategic plan 2024-2028 comes as a continuation of the administration’s path towards sustainable development to dedicate its leadership at the level of customs authorities locally and globally, which is based on employing modern and advanced technologies, especially blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and the application of the system. Coordinated border management, strengthening partnerships and cooperation in trade facilitation, and benefiting from data analysis and generating insights to raise the efficiencies of customs operations and services. Support and enhance customer experience.
He added that the road map for Abu Dhabi Customs for the next five years includes the implementation of 28 strategic projects, noting that the most prominent results expected from the implementation of the strategic plan are enhancing the rate of pre-arrival clearance transactions for goods in Abu Dhabi, and reducing the average clearance time for goods, in addition to achieving compliance with international agreements. 100% customs policies and procedures.
