According to the previously announced plan, the orange route “Madinah Road Corridor” will be operated on January 5, 2025, thus completing the operation of all six routes of the network with a total length of 176 kilometers.

The train connects all outskirts of Riyadh, and operates without a driver, through central control rooms that track movement accurately, safely and reliably, as two companies were attracted to monitor security and safety measures in the train and control systems.
There are only 10% of the Riyadh train project’s tracks on the ground, 40% of which are tunnels and 50% on bridges, and it represents a strong boom in the field of transportation within Riyadh.
With the start of the extended holiday, the Riyadh Metro is witnessing a large turnout from residents of the capital, Riyadh.
Huge crowds
Large crowds of citizens and residents flocked to benefit from the metro services and move around the capital with ease and ease.
The King Abdullah Financial City (KAFD) train station witnessed a huge turnout.
Many trains and central stations of the metro routes were also filled with passengers, especially those linking various parts of the capital.
It forms a major connection point with the blue route coming from south of Riyadh.
The long weekend holiday for the Kingdom’s male and female students and education personnel has begun, and includes Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday and Saturday are also added to the official holiday, noting that this comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s keenness to provide opportunities for students and their families to benefit from their time in various activities.

The Riyadh Metro runs through more than 85 stations distributed throughout the capital, including four main stations implemented with distinct and unique architectural designs, with a capacity that will reach 3.6 million passengers daily.
The Riyadh Metro project includes a huge fleet of trains, including 190 trains and 452 cars, produced by major international companies.

The project also provides 19 parking sites distributed along the various paths of the network.
It is noteworthy that the Riyadh Metro project consists of 6 tracks, 3 of which have been operated so far, namely: The first track, the “Blue Line”,: Olaya – Batha axis.
Fourth track, “Yellow Line”: King Khalid International Airport Road axis.
The sixth route, “Purple Line”: the axis of Abdul Rahman bin Awf Road – Sheikh Hassan bin Hussein bin Ali Road.
