On that day, Russia announced that it seeks to protect Russian speakers residing in Ukraine, in addition to “purging the country of Nazism,” something that Kiev and its Western allies strongly rejected.
Kiev has accused hundreds of individuals of cooperating with Russia since the invasion, especially people who were providing the Russian army with military information, or employees in the occupied areas who were working for the authorities appointed by Moscow.
