49 million dinars in foreign direct investments in Bahrain within 9 months

The volume of direct foreign investments coming into the Kingdom of Bahrain until the third quarter of the current year 2024 amounted to about 49 million dinars, and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries were at the forefront of the investing countries, led by the State of Kuwait, with investments amounting to 17 million dinars during the past 9 months, followed by Saudi Arabia with 10. 6 million dinars, then the UAE 5.2 million dinars, and Libya 3.6 million dinars.
Economic statistics issued by the Bahrain Open Data Portal revealed that the volume of incoming foreign investments increased by approximately 10% over the same period in 2023, as investments from the first to third quarter of last year amounted to 44.8 million dinars, while Bahrain recorded investments amounting to 49 million dinars for the same period. The period from the current year 2024, and the percentage for the same period during the two years reaches 9.45%.
The numbers indicate that the State of Kuwait came at the forefront of countries investing in the Kingdom during the past 9 months, with investments exceeding 5 million during the first, second and third quarters, which totaled 17 million dinars, followed by Saudi Arabia with investments exceeding 3 million in the first to third quarter of 2024. The UAE ranks third in the volume of foreign direct investments coming into the country, which total for the same period amounts to 5.2 million dinars, at a rate of 1.7 from the first to the third quarter. Libya also topped the list of foreign direct investments in Bahrain over the past 9 months, with investments amounting to 3.6 million dinars, with 1.2 million dinars for the first, second and third quarters, followed by India with 1.8 million dinars from the beginning of the year until the third quarter.
Statistics showed that the Cayman Islands’ investments in Bahrain amounted to about 1.7 million dinars, Turkey amounted to approximately 1.4 million dinars, Qatar amounted to 1.1 million dinars, and Oman exceeded 752 thousand dinars for the same period mentioned previously.
