Dubai, December 15 / WAM / The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, in cooperation with “Tracker”, the digital platform specialized in land freight, launched the “Logistics” digital platform in partnership with the private sector, to provide commercial transportation services to customers and the business sector, and manage the fleet of commercial transportation vehicles. The platform contributes to creating a qualitative shift in the logistics sector, strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading destination for logistics services in the region, redefining the process of transporting goods in Dubai, linking customers with commercial transport service providers, and improving user service by providing services characterized by efficiency, ease and reliability.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, said that the launch of the “Logisti” platform comes as a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” in enhancing the global competitiveness of the Emirate of Dubai as a center. His Excellency pointed out that the platform contributes to enhancing the operational efficiency of the logistics sector, by adopting technology in the sector’s operations, activities and services, as the number of commercial transport companies in Dubai is estimated at more than 10,000 companies, recording a compound annual growth of 34% during the past five years.

The platform includes advanced technical features and a “CBM” calculator, supported by artificial intelligence, and allows customers to estimate the size of the shipment to be transported, by uploading photos or videos, and will provide advanced solutions for transporting goods and transportation services, keeping pace with the latest innovations in this field.

The commercial transportation activities sector is witnessing continuous economic growth, especially with the acceleration of growth in e-commerce in the past two years, as Dubai is a major logistical center for shipping and distribution in the region. The total number of registered commercial vehicles has reached 351 thousand vehicles, and the growth has contributed to the provision of more than 242 vehicles. A thousand job opportunities.

The transportation and storage sector also witnessed remarkable growth in 2023, achieving an added value of 31.4 billion dirhams, constituting 42.8% of the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Dubai, and the sector recorded the highest growth rate in the second quarter of this year, amounting to 7.8%.

The platform will officially launch its services to customers starting in December 2024, as it will provide advanced solutions for transporting goods, keeping pace with the latest innovations in this field.
