Interest rate expectations at the next Bank of England monetary policy meeting

Expectations revealed that the Bank of England (the British Central Bank) will keep interest rates unchanged in its next decision, on Thursday.
The makers are scheduled to announce the outcome of their next meeting on December 19.

Interest rates in Britain

Most analysts believe that they will vote in favor of keeping the main interest rate in the United Kingdom at 4.75%, according to the British News Agency.
The base interest rate affects how much banks charge on loans and mortgages.

Inflation in Britain

It has also been kept high in recent years to curb runaway inflation.
Inflation had fallen below the bank’s 2% target earlier in the year.
This prompted the British Central Bank to cut interest rates in August and November.
