“Literature and Publishing” supports authors to overcome the challenges of uncommon genre literature

The symposium “Uncommon Literary Genres: Support and Empowerment,” which was held within the activities of the Jeddah Book Fair, concluded by highlighting the pivotal role played by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority in supporting writers and overcoming the difficulties they face.
This support came within an expanded program that lasted for six months, which contributed to introducing writers to the concepts of rare literary genres and presentation mechanisms that make the reader immerse themselves in the book until the end.
The program included intensive training courses provided by the Authority to writers, which helped them transform their initial ideas into fully-fledged works.

Readers’ interests

It also provided them with a deep understanding of uncommon literary genres, with the aim of expanding their scope and developing content that meets the interests of readers. At the Jeddah Book Fair, writers had an exceptional opportunity to share their direct experiences, which allowed them to reach a wide audience and introduce their diverse literary messages.
Writer Abdulaziz bin Humaid, one of the program’s beneficiaries, explained that the Authority’s support played a major role in enabling him to present distinguished work in mystery and crime literature, noting the Authority’s role in enabling him to delve into the minute details to produce attractive content that attracts the reader.

New horizons

As for the doctor and writer Lina Al-Shaalan, she spoke about her experience with the support she received from the Commission, describing it as opening up new horizons for her in her literature, despite her different specializations. She pointed out the importance of communicating with the literary guide who provided periodic feedback to improve and improve the work.
Regarding travel literature, the writer Mishaan Al-Mishaan stated that the program helped him expand his awareness and move out of the framework of traditional description to an innovative proposal that blends artistic aesthetics and new dimensions, noting that these courses helped him in presenting integrated works that meet the desires of readers searching for knowledge.

Continuous reviews

In turn, Noura Al-Ashuli, who began her artistic career with drawing and then gradually moved to writing, participated, explaining that the Authority’s initiative helped her develop her story from the initial drawings to the final text, praising the Authority’s continuous reviews that contributed to producing the work in its final form.
The “Uncommon Literary Genres” symposium came to highlight the importance of the initiatives launched by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, as its role was not limited to providing artistic and technical support to writers, but also helped them find a platform to express their creativity, which enhances cultural diversity and contributes to the development of the literary scene in Kingdom.
