Dubai Customs handles 1.23 million bags on board 187 cruise ships from January to November

Dubai, December 16 / WAM / Dubai Customs, represented by the Passenger Operations Department, announced that it handled more than 1.23 million bags for about 281,775 passengers, for 187 ships during the period from January to November 2024, as part of its keeping pace with the boom witnessed in marine tourism in Dubai, and its commitment to providing advanced and world-leading customs services at Port Rashid and the Dubai Harbour.
Khaled Ahmed, Director of the Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, confirmed that the department is keeping pace with the tourism boom that Dubai is witnessing, through its strategic vision aimed at providing the best customs services in record time, and enriching the experience of travelers arriving through air or sea ports, which contributes to strengthening Dubai’s plan. tourism, and serves the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, expressing the department’s pride in its contribution to the successes achieved by Dubai in the field of tourism and travel globally through Dubai International Airport, Port Rashid, and Dubai Harbour, which is considered an exceptional waterfront.

Ahmed explained that the department supports Dubai’s efforts to develop the marine tourism sector by providing the best services and facilities to tourists coming to Dubai on board cruise ships, and cooperates with strategic partners to provide services and facilities in cruise terminals, and attract more numbers of marine tourism to the emirate, which contributes to In enhancing Dubai’s position on the global tourism map.
