Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque opens its doors to a museum "Light and peace" In front of visitors

Abu Dhabi, December 17 / WAM / The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center announced that the “Nour and Peace” Museum will open its doors to the public tomorrow, Wednesday, during the press conference held today at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
His Excellency Dr. Yousef Abdullah Al Obaidly, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, said that the “Nour and Peace” Museum stems from the vision of the United Arab Emirates and its wise leadership in enriching the cultural scene in the country and reviving the components of Islamic civilization and its products, which are characterized by diversity and richness and reflect ages of depth of knowledge. In the sciences, craftsmanship and creativity in the arts and literature, and at the same time it expresses the Islamic culture’s encouragement of sciences and arts, and also stems from the state’s vision of establishing the concepts of civilizational communication on the foundations of peace. Mutual respect and its pioneering role as an incubator of the values of tolerance, through expressing the essence of Islamic culture and the concepts of unity, rapprochement, and moderation that characterize it.
He added that the museum was designed to combine a distinctive atmosphere and innovative display methods for a selection of artifacts, artifacts, and exhibits of historical artistic, scientific, and literary value across five cultural fields that provide inspiring narrative experiences that enrich the visit of the mosque’s visitors.
He pointed out that the museum, with its diverse cultural content, targets various cultures and groups, including researchers, specialists, and those interested in culture, heritage, science, and the arts, and presents its messages through various interactive and sensory experiences, including the children’s group, for whom a group of attractive experiences are allocated that brings to their minds the museum’s cultural message in the section dedicated to the family. .
During the press conference, the museum’s sections were reviewed. The first section of the museum, “Values of Tolerance – The Flood of Light,” presents messages of tolerance and coexistence in the United Arab Emirates, whose roots extend to this land since it was settled by humans thousands of years ago and was established by the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed. The second section is the “Sanctity and Worship – The Three Mosques” section, and it allows visitors from different parts of the world to learn closely about the most sacred mosques in the Islamic world, which are the Grand Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the aspects inspired by them in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque on the spiritual and architectural levels.
The third section of the museum is called “Beauty and Mastery – The Spirit of Creativity” and highlights the rich scientific and cultural production of Islamic civilization throughout the ages.
Visitors will pass through the family section, which provides a unique opportunity for families to explore stories collectively within a fun interactive atmosphere that attracts children and through sensory experiences that address several topics such as building the mosque, geometric shapes, ways to use the astrolabe, and others.
The fourth section of the museum is called “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – Tolerance and Openness” and includes a model of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the middle of the museum and embodies the values of peace, tolerance and diversity that the Islamic religion calls for. It is topped with a chandelier that mimics the mosque’s chandelier, one of the most prominent aesthetic features of the mosque. This section includes several stations. Interactive, allowing visitors to explore the details of the mosque, the story of its origins, its aesthetics, and the wonderful arts of Islamic architecture that were clearly evident in all its corners, as visitors to the museum see. On the experience of the center’s work team and the role of each of them in embodying the mosque’s message and its civilizational vision.
As for the last section in the museum, it is entitled “Unity and Coexistence.” Its experience was inspired by the aesthetics of the mosque, and one of its most prominent details that includes a message of unity and coexistence is the flower designs inspired by different parts of the world. This section provides an attractive and inspiring interactive experience that allows the visitor to connect his geographical region to any A place in the world with inclusive values and arts.
The museum is filled with a selection of antiques and exhibits dating back to various Islamic eras and centered on various topics. The most important of the museum’s exhibits include part of the belt of the Holy Kaaba “20th century,” the Abdul-Malik bin Marwan dinar, the first Islamic gold coin “77 AH,” and the book of introduction to what is in the Muwatta. From the meanings and chains of transmission “1296 AD / 695 AH” and deals with the grading of the hadiths of Muwatta Imam Malik from the Noble Hadith, the records of Islamic jurisprudence, the pages of the Qur’an manuscripted in gold from the Blue Qur’an, “9th-10th century AD,” the book of Mecca News and its antiquities, “14th century AD,” and an Andalusian astrolabe, “14th century AD,” in addition to the personal collection of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al. Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and other ancient and contemporary works of art, scientific and medical treatises, decorations, calligraphy, and metal works of art. Wooden, marble, textiles and a number of contemporary works of art.
The “Dia Interactive – A World of Light” experience, which includes an interactive 360-degree light show, also constitutes a qualitative addition to the cultural experiences at the center, as it presents its message through sound and sensory effects accompanied by wind to give the visitor the opportunity to experience an immersive and inspiring sensory experience that begins with the space illuminated by the stars of the sky. To the land of the United Arab Emirates and its authentic heritage, where the design of the experiment required the use of more than one and a half billion optical modules.
To enhance the content of the museum and enrich its cultural collection, the center issued the book “Light and Peace, the Journey of Faith, Inspiration and Coexistence” in its Arabic and English versions, which will soon be available for purchase in both the “Light and Peace” store and the mosque library, which are adjacent to the museum in the “Peace Dome” in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center.
