2024.. the year of farewell to the giants of art

Many prominent artistic figures left our world in 2024, who left a lasting impact on the memory of Arab art.

Death left them behind, but their artistic legacy is still vibrant, telling the stories of their creativity and extending to enriching future generations with their works. Diverse and distinguished, they were able to engrave their names in golden letters, so that the hearts of their fans and lovers remained a witness to their talent and unforgettable presence.

Helmy Bakr.. A musician who made song history. We said goodbye to the great musician Helmy Bakr, on March 1, 2024, at the age of 87, after a struggle with illness.

Helmy is considered my dream. Bakr is one of the most important composers in the history of Egyptian music, as he presented timeless melodies that contributed to enriching the Arabic song for many years.

Salah Al-Saadani.. The departure of the mayor of drama  The distinguished artist Salah Al-Saadani died on April 19, 2024, at the age of 81, after a long illness.

He was known for his iconic performance of the character of Mayor Suleiman Ghanem in the series “Layali Al-Helmeya,” becoming one of the pillars of Egyptian drama.

Nahed Rushdi.. Egyptian drama star On September 14, 2024, artist Nahed Rushdi passed away at the age of 68 after a struggle with cancer. She was distinguished by her participation in many successful dramas, most notably her role in the series “I will not live in my father’s robe.” Which immortalized her name in the public’s memory.

Hassan Youssef.. the unforgettable star of cinema and drama. On October 29, 2024, the great artist Hassan Youssef passed away at the age of 90 years. Youssef presented a rich artistic career that began in the 1950s, and appeared in cinematic works such as “Our Sweet Days,” and he also embodied the character of Sheikh Al-Shaarawi in a famous television work.

Mustafa Fahmy..a sudden departure  The handsome artist Mostafa Fahmy passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 82, after suffering from a brain tumor. Fahmy is considered one of the most prominent stars in cinema and television, as he presented distinguished works such as the series “A Man and a Woman.” And the movie “Where is my mind?”.

Sherifa Maher.. an icon of strong roles. On October 26, 2024, the artist Sherifa Maher passed away at the age of 92, leaving a great artistic legacy. She is famous for her strong film roles such as “A Man with a Past” films. And “A Virgin and Three Men”.

Farewell to other prominent names in 2024

Ahmed Farhat He died on July 21, 2024 after suffering a stroke.

Hamdi Al-Ramli passed away on November 10, 2024 after a struggle with cancer.

Departure from behind the scenes: producers and authors The artistic community also lost a number of prominent names in the field of production and authorship. : Producers Hossam Shawky, Fathi Ismail, and Mahmoud Kamal, who died on August 1, 2024 as a result of a traffic accident.

Film writer "Atef Beshay" Who passed away on August 30, 2024 after a long struggle with illness.

The year 2024 was a sad year for Arab art with the passing of these stars who formed part of our memory and conscience. Their generosity and creativity will remain for future generations.
