Russia: 31 people, including 5 children, were injured in a two-train collision

The Russian Railways Corporation announced that 31 people, including 5 children, were injured in a passenger train collision with a freight train in Murmansk, St. Petersburg.
14 people were taken to hospital, four of them in critical condition, according to what the Russian Sputnik news agency reported.

Train accidents in Russia

The death toll has now reached two people, while the authority stated that Russian Railways will do its utmost to provide the families of the victims with the necessary support.
It is also ready to provide free treatment and rehabilitation to injured passengers at its medical facilities.”
The authority stated that the company will pay 2 million and 200 thousand rubles to the relatives of the victims.

Victims of train accidents

Murmansk Province Governor Andrei Chibis also announced the death of two people in a train collision in the province, while doctors are providing the necessary assistance to many passengers.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik that 14 people were injured in the accident, three of them in serious condition.

Train passengers

A passenger train carrying 326 passengers carrying No. 11 from Murmansk to Petersburg collided with a freight train.
This led to some trailers deviating from the track and 3 vehicles overturning, and the temperature in the accident area was 25 degrees below zero.
Traffic was suspended at the site, while the Murmansk Transport Investigation Department opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the accident.
