Miss France 2025 is making history.. It’s not too late

A few days ago, flight attendant Angelique Angarne-Villopon (34 years old) was crowned Miss France 2025, making history in two ways: the first: she became the first beauty queen from Martinique to win the French crown, and the second: she is the oldest candidate to be elected. Since the age limit will be removed in 2022.

This is not only what distinguished Angelique, as her story carries an element of determination and challenge. After failing to compete at the age of 21, she tried her luck again this year, without fear of failure again, and was able to win the title, at the age of 34.

Angelique said she did it “out of a woman’s desire,” she admitted, not “out of a little girl’s dream,” and her exemplary career allowed her to impress the jury and millions of viewers on television. To get the title.

When accepting the award, Angelique sent a valuable message to all women, saying: She represents “Martinique, its diaspora, and all women, who were once told: It is too late.”

She indicated that she did not expect to win, as in every regional election she used to say to herself: “Oh… yes, they (the other contestants) are very beautiful,” confirming that she saw victory moving away from her.

Although some would have preferred the victory of her rival, Sabah Ayeb, Miss Nour Pas-de-Calais, who won the title of first runner-up, Angelique Angarne-Villopon herself was able to collect the votes of the jury and the public.

There is no doubt that Angelique Angarne-Philopon’s victory in the title represents a new era in beauty pageant competitions, where experience and maturity have found their place in the spotlight.

Until 2022, the competition, which has been held since 1920, considered any girl over the age of 24 too old to be a symbol of feminine beauty, and also prohibited the participation of married women and mothers.

Among the 30 finalists were female doctors and dentists, aged between 18 and 34 years, which reflects a broader shift towards comprehensiveness and modernization in such competitions.

It is reported that Angelique, as the winner, will receive up to 60,000 euros (50,000 pounds sterling) over the course of the next year, in addition to the use of an apartment in Paris, near the Arc de Triomphe, and various gifts from sponsors.

This year’s women’s jury, which was led by the famous singer Sylvie Vartan, included prominent figures such as: Olympian Marie-José Perec, fashion designer Cristina Cordola, dancer Veuve Houteau, comedian Noelle Madani, pianist Katia Buniatashvili, and former Miss France Flora. Cockerel.
