The UAE opened the orphanage project in the Oromia region of the friendly Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, which was established under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, President Emirates Red Crescent Authority, under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families. Al-Shuhada, Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation, as part of the country’s development initiatives and its pioneering efforts to enhance basic services on the African continent, especially in the health, educational and service fields.

During the opening of the project, His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, stressed the pioneering regional and global role of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in developing the prospects for cooperation and partnership between the two friendly countries in many vital fields, which is reflected in Positively affecting the Ethiopian people socially, health-wise and economically, he noted at the same time the strength of the Emirati-Ethiopian relations and the UAE’s humanitarian and development support for Ethiopia in the circumstances and times. various sectors, especially in the field of housing, social, educational and health services, to ensure sustainable growth and prosperity.

His Excellency thanked the UAE, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness for the great interest he attaches to strengthening the main infrastructure in Ethiopia and other countries of the African continent, and his great keenness to Supporting areas of sustainable development and capacity building in various service sectors that benefit the Ethiopian people of all segments, groups and sects.
His Excellency Dr. Hamdan bin Muslim Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent, Member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, and a number of officials from the Emirati and Ethiopian sides participated in the opening of the House.

After the opening, the attendees were briefed on the basic services provided by the project to more than 700 orphans, at a total cost of 20 million UAE dirhams, allocated for boarding houses, in addition to two schools, a kindergarten, a library, a training center, and spaces equipped for entertainment and games, in addition to administrative offices for officials and supervisors, with the presence Well and modern pumps to provide water.

His Excellency Dr. Hamdan bin Muslim Al Mazrouei stressed that such humanitarian projects embody the immortal humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and come in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to consolidate relations. Emirati-Ethiopian in various fields of interest to the two friendly countries, through the implementation of several humanitarian and development projects that touch the societal conscience and meet The actual need of many groups and segments, especially orphans, within the framework of the societal and moral responsibility to which the UAE is committed through implementing such necessary humanitarian projects, which are under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He explained that the UAE is working side by side with the relevant authorities in the friendly Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to implement more humanitarian and development projects that serve the friendly Ethiopian people, and reflect the essence of fraternal human values ​​and noble principles aimed at man’s concern for his fellow man, standing with him and supporting him, and working to develop his society. And develop its basic services in the areas of health, educational, housing, social and other infrastructure, regardless of origin, race, color, religion or creed.
