The Film Commission announced the organization of an in-person training workshop entitled “Film Directing” in the Najran region, which will be held during the period from December 29, 2024 until January 2, 2025.
The workshop lasts for 5 days, and aims to train between 10 to 20 participants to develop script writing skills, prepare scenes, and use artistic tools to produce short films of professional quality..

The workshop will be presented by Egyptian writer and director Khaled El Hagar, who holds an academic education in film directing and screenwriting from the National Film College in England.

The workshop addresses a number of important topics, including preparing a storyboard (Storyboard) Which accurately reflects cinematic texts, lighting techniques and cinematic lenses to create distinctive dramatic scenes, in addition to using all types of cameras and choosing the appropriate lenses for each scene.
Participants will also learn to write a screenplay, from developing the idea to preparing a final filmed version. The workshop will include practical training on teamwork to produce a 3-minute short film.
