The Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers took a number of new decisions, the most prominent of which was the start of work on preparing the Arab strategy for cybersecurity.
It also included approving the appointment of the Secretary-General and members of the Executive Office of the Council, holding joint cyber exercises, and approving the structure and work mechanism of the Council.

The Council discussed developments in cybersecurity at a number of levels, and aspects of cooperation with international organizations, which contribute to enhancing cybersecurity at the Arab level.
The Kingdom, represented by the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Engineer Majid bin Muhammad Al-Mazyad, chaired the first regular session of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers.
Its work began in Riyadh, and the Governor of the National Cybersecurity Authority opened the work of the first regular session of the Council, stressing that the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to propose the establishment of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers came from its established and authentic principle towards maintaining common Arab security.

In addition to developing cooperation with Arab brothers and coordinating Arab efforts, in everything that would preserve the vital interests of our countries and take care of our capabilities.
He pointed out that welcoming the establishment of the Council confirms the importance of cybersecurity in creating development, prosperity and stability, as well as being an integral pillar of the system of maintaining international peace and security.
He also extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – for the support, wise directives and continuous follow-up, and their keenness – may God support them – to support… Sponsoring everything that would enhance joint Arab action and preserve Arab security and stability.

Strengthening joint Arab cooperation

Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, especially with threats.
He pointed out that this is the best way to build a solid system, indicating that he is confident that the Council will represent a qualitative addition to the Arab national security system, offering his sincere thanks to Saudi Arabia for its pioneering initiative to establish the Council.
