The Head of State and the Turkish Foreign Minister discuss the relations of the two countries and regional developments

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Excellency Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, discussed enhancing cooperation and joint work between the UAE and Turkey in various fields within the framework of the strategic relations that bring together the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to His Highness the President of the State the greetings of His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and his wishes for the UAE to further progress and prosperity, while His Highness conveyed to him his greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his wishes for his country’s continued growth and development.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed developments in the situation in the Middle East region, stressing the need to intensify efforts and endeavors in order to prevent the expansion of the conflict in the region, which threatens regional security and stability, in addition to finding a clear path to peace that guarantees the achievement of stability and security for all.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Turkish Foreign Minister also discussed developments in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, stressing in this context the two countries’ firm position towards the stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, in addition to supporting everything that achieves the aspirations of its people towards security, stability and development.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, and His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.
