Dubai, December 25 / WAM / Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, as part of the various activities it organizes at the “Shatana in Hatta” festival, and within the framework of the “Shattana Hatta” initiative, presents to visitors of the festival this year, 140 various workshops. The workshops focus on a set of artistic skills and simple handicrafts of a creative nature, inspired by the environment of the Hatta region, which is rich in its diverse natural and heritage attractions, which makes it one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Dubai and the UAE in general.
The workshops, which are available free of charge to the festival’s audience, include many different skills, such as engraving on wood, glass, mirrors, and metal surfaces, making Islamic decorations on various surfaces, embroidery and decorating fabric bags with seashells, designing gift boxes, and manufacturing simple products using elements from the environment, such as the most famous plants that Hatta is distinguished by other artistic skills, a large part of which has been taken into account to be linked to the local environment.
Mahra Al-Youha, a member of the organizing committee of the Shatana Festival in Hatta, said that the workshops are among the most important community activities and events included in the festival this year, as they are not just a way to acquire new skills, but rather a platform to stimulate creativity and encourage the development of self-skills, with the aim of creating a sustainable impact from In terms of consolidating the values of creativity.

This year, it increased by 40% compared to the number in the first session of the festival, during which about 100 workshops were held, which received great demand, especially from children and their families, as Brand Dubai worked in cooperation with the parties participating in organizing these workshops. Among the workshops included in the festival this year are concrete painting workshops, presented by Alia Lootah and Noura Kalban from Medaf. “The Swing House” also offers workshops for children in embroidering pillows, and other lessons in methods of shaping clay, designing mosaics inspired by the nature of Hatta, and pinning pieces of fabric to clothes in creative ways, in addition to workshops in designing jewelry and beads.
