Dubai Municipality launches the ninth season of the “Hatta Honey Festival”

The activities of the Hatta Honey Festival, the most prominent annual event to support Emirati beekeepers and the honey production sector nationwide, will start tomorrow, which is organized by Dubai Municipality until December 31 with the participation of 51 Emirati beekeepers, in line with the “Comprehensive Development Plan for the Development of the Hatta Region,” which aims to develop the region. Implementing various economic and development projects and initiatives, and providing investment opportunities for the private sector in them.

The Honey Festival, within the framework of the “Hatta Hatta” initiative, comes as an integrated event that provides citizens, residents and tourists with an ideal opportunity to learn about the various types of honey, and what the Hatta region abounds in, distinguished by its nature, picturesque terrain and winter atmosphere, which is considered one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the country and the Emirate. Dubai continues to consolidate its leadership and attractiveness on the global tourism map.

The festival, which will be held at the Hatta Wedding Hall, aims to support the honey production sector at the level of the UAE and Emirati beekeepers, as it is an investment and marketing platform to display the products of their various projects to visitors and tourists, and to raise the standards of quality and health safety in the field of the honey industry in the Emirate of Dubai, and to shed light on The most prominent ways to enhance its quality, in addition to exchanging experiences in this field.

The event also provides investment and economic opportunities for residents of the Hatta region and citizens who own productive local small and medium enterprises, in line with the emirate’s vision and strategy to achieve comprehensive development and enhance the residents’ quality of life and well-being.

Acting Executive Director of the Environment, Health and Safety Foundation in Dubai Municipality, Dr. Naseem Mohammed Rafie, said that the Hatta Honey Festival occupies a distinguished position and plays a notable role in enhancing the growth opportunities of the national local product, and that the municipality is keen to organize it annually as part of its commitment to enhancing the position and attractiveness of the Hatta region as a distinguished destination and destination. Tourism and entertainment in the Emirate of Dubai, and its continuous work to develop its facilities and tourist sites that support its capabilities to host seasonal economic, entertainment and sporting events, initiatives and events.

She added that community initiatives that support the productive sectors, especially agricultural and small and medium enterprises, constitute a priority for Dubai Municipality, based on its efforts to develop economic opportunities that enhance the competitiveness of productive local projects, and support citizen entrepreneurs, in a way that contributes to developing their projects, raising their levels and sustainability, and opening channels for them. New to contribute to supporting the local economy and achieving self-sufficiency, noting that the municipality provides many immediate laboratory tests of honey samples to exhibitors and visitors during the festival, for the purpose of ensuring… Its quality and compliance with approved standard specifications, in addition to tests on the honey products offered, such as; Examination of the percentage of total sugars, glucose, sucrose, fructose, and hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF).

The ninth session of the Hatta Honey Festival will witness an auction for the sale of various types of honey, and a competition between beekeepers for the best Emirati honey, with valuable prizes being awarded to the first-place winners.

The festival will also include accompanying activities, including 5 booths to display the products of productive families projects, 10 awareness workshops in the field of honey, and a theater for daily entertainment activities including arts and popular bands, as well as places for children’s games. The festival’s sections will vary between training workshops, auctions and competitions, productive families, the Dubai Central Laboratory platform, and the food security platform.

The Dubai Municipality’s Mobile Smart Laboratory will be present at the festival, to provide tests related to the detection of yeasts and fungi generated in honey products, in addition to tests of ready-made foods provided in food establishments participating in the festival, with the aim of ensuring the quality and safety of the foods provided.
