With flowers, chocolate, and prosthetic limbs… People of determination participate in the Zayed Festival

Through its pavilion participating in the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination displays a variety of workshop and vocational training products, including heritage products that are in line with the character of the festival, and marketing products made by the hands of the organization’s employees.

The workshops include the flower workshop, the “Blooming Bee Flowers” ​​project, in which 10 female students of determination work, the chocolate making factory with the fingertips of people of determination, the integrated central workshop for prosthetics and orthotics, which is the first of its kind in the country, in addition to the cheese factory in which five girls work. She is a member of Zayed Higher Women of Determination and adopts the slogan “Made in the Emirates”, with the aim of meeting the requirements of the daily production of various dairy products.

The sewing workshop for girls and boys is the first cooperation and partnership between the Foundation and the private sector, as it provides job opportunities for people of determination with mental challenges, while the 3D printing workshop was launched, in cooperation and partnership with HP, as the first workshop of its kind in the world managed by people of determination. Using the HP Jet Fusion 4200 series printer to produce medical stents for the limbs.

It also includes carpentry and wooden toys workshops, printing and packaging, and antiques, which are among the heritage workshops that use materials from the local environment, and the production of candles, in addition to the Bee Café, which serves coffee of various types and shapes, made with the fingertips of people of determination.

The head of the Marketing Unit – Abu Dhabi in the Foundation’s Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department, supervising the pavilion, Mohammed Al-Alawi, said that the Foundation’s participation in the festival comes from the standpoint of integrating and empowering people of determination, as the festival gives them the opportunity to promote their products and creativity, discover their abilities, and express their talents and skills in communicating with the visiting public. .

He pointed out that the Foundation, through its participation in various events and events, is keen to display products that are compatible with the general nature of the event, so people of determination display their products at the festival that reflect the Emirati identity and are in line with its heritage atmosphere.

He added that their participation in the festival was their second, pointing to the noticeable increase in the number of visitors to the Foundation’s pavilion, which helped convey its message by emphasizing that people of determination are active and productive individuals in the labor market, and that people of determination are able to enter and contribute to the industrial sector, as he had no choice but to do so. The positive impact contributed to supporting them psychologically and became a motivation that increased their eagerness to be present at the festival.

Al-Alawi stressed the organization’s keenness to support people of determination to interact with the public to provide them with communication skills and achieve the goal of social inclusion as influential individuals in society, noting that participation in the festival includes displaying products and workshops for people of determination.

He pointed out that the Foundation also provided the opportunity for the families of Zayed Higher members’ productive and creative individuals to participate, which brought them benefits from marketing their products and profits from their sales.

The workshops and vocational rehabilitation project at the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination is one of the pioneering projects, through which job opportunities are provided to people of determination to empower them and integrate them into society.

The Foundation launched a group of workshops that embrace people of determination who are over 18 years old, to provide them with real job opportunities, in cooperation with its partners from the private sector to provide many sustainable production lines, and it issued an approved trademark for these products, “Al-Nahla,” with the aim of entering the market. Production and competition in the local market.
