The Head of State meets with the Serbian President and discusses with him the relations of the two countries, developments in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Republic of Serbia, discussed the developments taking place in the region in light of the military escalation and its dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and peace.

This came during a meeting with His Highness Head of State Aleksandar Vucic, President of the Republic of Serbia, who is on a working visit to the country.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the ongoing Iranian terrorist attacks against the UAE and countries in the region, which target civilians, civilian facilities and infrastructure, as they represent a violation of the sovereignty of these countries and international laws. His Excellency Aleksandar Vucic condemned these attacks, reiterating Serbia’s solidarity with the UAE and its full support for all the measures it takes to defend its security and stability and ensure the safety of its territories and citizens.

The two sides stressed the need to immediately stop escalatory military actions, and resort to serious dialogue and diplomatic solutions in addressing the region’s outstanding issues in a way that preserves security and stability there and avoids further tension and crises.

During the meeting, His Highness the Head of State and the Serbian President also discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, stressing their keenness to continue strengthening them in a way that serves their development priorities and mutual interests and brings goodness and development to their peoples, within the framework of the comprehensive strategic and comprehensive economic partnership between the two countries.

The Serbian President had arrived in the country earlier, where he was received by His Highness the President and a number of His Highness Sheikhs, ministers and officials.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President, and a number of officials.
