Dense fog hinders air traffic in Britain
The restrictions imposed on air traffic at several large British airports continued since Friday due to dense fog, according to what the National Air Navigation Service (NATS) announced.
These temporary restrictions “remain in effect in locations where visibility is low,” a service spokesperson said in a statement Saturday.

Gatwick (London) and Manchester airports, which are the second and third busiest airports in the country, are among the most affected by these disturbances.
Flight delays
A spokesman for Gatwick Airport said in statements to Agence France-Presse on Saturday morning that, due to “poor visibility,” some flights will “most likely” be delayed throughout the day.
Yesterday, Friday, dozens of flights were canceled from Manchester, Gatwick, and Heathrow (London) airports, and hundreds of other flights were delayed.
The National Air Navigation Service called on all travelers to contact airlines to find out if their flights are still on, noting that it is “monitoring” the situation with the National Meteorological Office in Britain.
