Urgent.. the start of the surgery for"Netanyahu" At Hadassah Hospital

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent, on Sunday night, surgery to remove the prostate at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

 The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, and Netanyahu is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.

 

A statement was issued from Netanyahu’s office yesterday, which stated: Since the discovery of a urinary tract infection resulting from a benign enlargement of the prostate, the Prime Minister received treatment for several days. Treatment with antibiotics eradicated the infection.

 Justice Minister Yariv Levin serves as acting prime minister during the operation, and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz is responsible for convening the cabinet. The person chosen to perform the surgery is Professor Ofer Gofret, Director of the Urology Department at Hadassah – along with Dr. Ehud Jensen, Senior Urologist at Assaf Harofeh Hospital and Professor Mordechai Duvdevani, Director of the Internal Urology Unit. At Hadassah to join the surgical team due to his extensive experience. Dr. Stefan Ladot, Director of the Department of Anesthesiology at Hadassah Ein Kerem, is the anesthesiologist for the surgery, and Professor Govret is the one who operated on Netanyahu in 2017, performing another medical procedure to crush a bladder stone.

Professor Mordechai Dovdevani, Director of the Department of Urology, together with Professor Jaufret,   Netanyahu will undergo surgery to remove the prostate tumor in the operating room.

 According to estimates, additional specialized doctors are supposed to participate in the operation because it is a complex operation, and he will remain in the Davidson ward at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem for a few days.

This is the first time that Sarah Netanyahu, the Prime Minister’s wife, will not be by his side during the medical procedure he is undergoing.

 

Sarah traveled Netanyahu went to Miami on November 27, and was supposed to return 20 days later – But she has since extended her stay. Netanyahu was supposed to return at the beginning of the week, but in the meantime he postponed the trip. But sources surrounding her estimated that she would return to Israel this week. It is not clear whether Netanyahu will advance the date of her return after surgery, and the fact that the Prime Minister will recover in a few days.
