"Fujairah Chess" and"Area development" They launch an initiative to discover talent
Fujairah, December 30 / WAM / The Fujairah Chess and Culture Club launched the Chess Councils Initiative under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, in cooperation with the Fujairah Regional Development Foundation, and in cooperation with the Emirates Chess Federation.
This came during a press conference held at the Novotel Fujairah Hotel this evening, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al Barakat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chess Club, Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, Vice Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, Jassim Haikal Al Balushi, Member of the Board of Directors and Director of Player Affairs, and Abdullah Al Hamour, representative of the Fujairah Regional Development Corporation.
The initiative aims to spread the culture of practicing chess in the community councils of the Emirate of Fujairah by organizing educational courses and workshops in chess and competitive competitions.
The initiative will start on January 5 and continue until February 21, and includes training courses and competitive tournaments in 10 Fujairah councils, so that the top five talents qualify for the final tournament, which will be held on February 22.
