Emirates SkyCargo adds Copenhagen to its dedicated cargo network

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of the world’s largest international air carrier, announced the operation of a weekly cargo aircraft dedicated to Copenhagen Airport, in response to the increasing demand from Denmark. This contributes to increasing the network of destinations served by Emirates cargo aircraft to 36 destinations.
The Boeing 777 freighter will contribute to increasing the capacity provided to Emirates customers, with the allocation of about 85 tons of cargo from Copenhagen and neighboring countries, including Norway and Sweden, after it was previously provided through passenger aircraft capacity.
Emirates SkyCargo recorded significant growth in the volume of shipments from Denmark by more than 20% in the last financial year, driven largely by pharmaceutical shipments.
Thanks to its thriving bioscience production industry and flexible cold chain infrastructure, Copenhagen serves as a hub for pharmaceutical logistics in Northern Europe. The increased capacity, combined with Emirates SkyCargo’s fit-for-purpose pharmaceutical product portfolio and extensive global network, will support further pharmaceutical exports from Denmark.
Customized solutions for freight transportation
In addition to enhancing pharmaceutical shipments, Emirates SkyCargo will provide customized solutions for transporting goods across its multiple product range. From general cargo to temperature-sensitive perishables such as seafood, Emirates SkyCargo moves goods from Copenhagen to the world quickly, efficiently and reliably.
Mette Jensen, Cargo Director, Emirates SkyCargo, Scandinavia, said: “Demand has been strong across Scandinavia, with particular growth in Copenhagen, and we expect this to continue into the next financial year and beyond. Strengthening our operations to Copenhagen with a dedicated freighter aircraft It ensures we can meet current demand and support our customers in accessing a greater number of markets around the world.”
Emirates SkyCargo serves 11 destinations across Europe with 37 dedicated cargo flights weekly, in addition to more than 485 passenger flights weekly.
These flights and capabilities make Europe one of the airline’s most active destinations.
Effective January 1, 2025, flight EK9746 will arrive at Copenhagen Airport at 11:35 on Wednesdays, and depart for Dubai World Central at 14:05 (all times local time for Dubai and Copenhagen).
