The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has set 9 basic requirements for stores that sell spare parts, which are providing a “counter” for reception and waiting seats for beneficiaries, noting the commitment to separate the storage area from the accounting and reception area with a barrier made of gypsum boards or reinforced aluminum and the like, in a way that suits the design of the store. .
The requirements, which were put forward by the Ministry, through the “Reconnaissance” platform, included that stores for transportation spare parts, decorative spare parts for vehicles, and spare parts for appliances and equipment be located in industrial areas, workshops, warehouses, gas stations, and commercial streets.

The Ministry obligated the licensee to provide the minimum architectural requirements, which include a reception area, an accountant, a warehouse for spare parts, and the provision of toilets, hand sinks, and prayer rooms in stores or commercial establishments.
It allowed the creation of barriers within the boundaries of the display shelves facing the reception area, provided that they are appropriate to the design of the store, stressing that the distance between the highest storage/display stacks and the ceiling must not be less than 60 cm, and the width of the aisles and paths between the shelves must not be less than 120 cm in the warehouse and in the showroom. .
It is required to provide shelves suitable for goods in terms of sizes and weights and to be made of fire-resistant and rust-resistant materials, and that the height of all shelves above the ground should not be less than 15 cm, hollowed out at the bottom to facilitate the cleaning process.

Stores selling goods in Saudi Arabia

It is prohibited to place any type of goods on the shop floor or reception counter, and in the event of a showroom, the shelves and goods must be secure and not susceptible to falling.

The Ministry confirmed that the warehouse area should not exceed 25% of the total area mentioned in the license or 150 square meters or whichever is less, and that the warehouse should be within the established store, and not be in the facade, and it is allowed to exceed the maximum permitted limit of “150 square meters,” with a maximum of 50% of the total area.
It required obtaining a municipal license before starting operation work, adhering to all operational requirements by the supervising authority, and obtaining an operational license from the authority supervising the activity.

Installing security cameras

It stipulates that the service provider must install security cameras and have authority over the cameras belonging to his own parking lots and guarantee their operation and functioning if the parking cameras belong to another facility, while providing valid electronic payment methods ready for use.
The Ministry prohibited the practice of an activity contrary to what was licensed, or the practice of the activity after the expiration of the license, or the practice of any additional activity not included in the license, or the practice of the activity outside the boundaries of the licensed facility or the use of public sidewalks or setback areas, unless there is a sidewalk occupancy license. .
It is prohibited to remove or cover the facility’s closure sticker, and if the shop or facility is closed by the municipality or the municipality, it is prohibited to reopen it until the violation is addressed and the municipality or municipality approves the resumption of activity.
It is required that the front of the store or establishment be free of stickers, except for stickers indicating the entry and exit route, working times, stickers for electronic payment methods, and instructions from government agencies.
