Saqr Ghobash and the President of the Swiss Council of States discuss parliamentary cooperation
ABU DHABI, 2nd January, 2017 (WAM) – His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council, received at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr. Andrea Carni, President of the Council of States in the Swiss Confederation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary relations, exchange experiences and visits, and enhance coordination and consultation on various issues during participation in international parliamentary activities.
Ghobash pointed out that this visit reflects the strength of the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, congratulating Carone on the occasion of his victory as president of the Swiss Council of States early last December.
He stressed the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, to be at the level of strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries, noting that the prospects for bilateral parliamentary cooperation are promising, in light of a solid foundation for solid economic and trade cooperation.
For his part, the President of the Council of States in the Swiss Confederation affirmed his country’s parliament’s keenness to strengthen and develop aspects of cooperation relations with the UAE in various fields, given its economic standing, the cultural development it is witnessing, and the wise policy it pursues calling for the preservation of security, peace and stability. internationals.
