Abdullah bin Zayed discusses by telephone with a number of foreign ministers the latest developments in the regional situation
Abu Dhabi, 8 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a series of phone calls with a number of foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries, discussed developments in the regional and international situation in light of the brutal Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of countries in the region.
His Highness held telephone discussions with His Excellency Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad in the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Sheikh Niang, Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad of the Republic of Senegal, and His Excellency Hugo de Zella, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru.
The communications discussed the repercussions of these developments on the security and stability of the region, in addition to their negative effects on the global economy and the security of energy supplies.
His Highness and their Excellencies the ministers expressed their strong condemnation of these brutal missile attacks, which represent a clear violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct threat to the security and sovereignty of states and the stability of the region.
They stressed the right of countries that were subjected to these attacks to take the necessary measures to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to maintain the security of their citizens, residents and visitors, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
His Highness and their Excellencies the ministers also discussed the importance of intensifying international cooperation and strengthening joint efforts to maintain regional security and stability.
During phone calls, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his appreciation for the positions of solidarity and support shown by brotherly and friendly countries towards the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors on its soil.
During phone calls with Their Excellencies the Ministers, His Highness also touched on the importance of pushing towards adopting diplomatic solutions and responsible and serious dialogue to reach sustainable solutions to all outstanding issues and crises, leading to achieving peace and greater prosperity and well-being for the peoples of the region.
