“Tenders”: An insurance company to provide a mandatory health package for residents for 5 years

On February 24, the Tenders and Auctions Board will open a tender for the Supreme Council of Health, after which it will select an insurance company to provide insurance coverage for high-quality health services and manage the benefits specified in the mandatory health package for residents, “Hakeem Programme,” under a 5-year contract.
The program aims to ensure optimal exploitation of resources, encourage the private sector, and enhance the continuity of health care, in addition to ensuring financial sustainability, by providing comprehensive coverage of primary, secondary and emergency health services.
Submissions for the tender will close next Sunday, February 23, and the floor will be opened for insurance companies wishing to compete to provide the health package to residents the next day.
Bidders must meet 3 mandatory criteria, which are compatibility with the schedule of benefits for the mandatory package of the Hakeem program, in addition to adherence to the health insurance law and related legal instruments, not to mention adherence to the annual subscription ceiling per capita for the age group up to 60 years, as the subscription value must be The price specified in the financial offers is less than 72 dinars for the age group up to 60 years.
In its response to a question submitted by MP Mohamed Musa Mohamed last November, the Ministry of Health confirmed the continuation of work to implement health insurance for residents, which is expected to be launched during the current year.
